Christmas Eve Reflections

•December 24, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So we have finally made it. Christmas Eve. What makes this Christmas so different from every other Christmas? Yes we all are a year older, new presents will be unwrapped, another year of fulfilling traditions. But is anything different spiritually? Have you used this advent season to prepare your heart to celebrate Christmas in a different way this year? It is the birthday of our Savior. The people in Old Testament times waited hundreds of years for this to occur and when it finally did, it happened in a way that they never expected. Today, we have this free gift waiting, not under the tree, but in the manger. He is Jesus and He wants you to experience Christmas in a way that you never have before.  Just as the wise man gave gifts to the Christ child, the only gift that we can give Jesus is our heart.  Allow the free gift of salvation to be unwrapped in your heart today. If you do, I promise you that Christmas will never be the same. In the busyness of our Christmas this year, lets take a little time to remember what happened on that first Christmas morn. Open your Bible up to Matthew or Luke and read about how it happened. Jesus is still and always will be the true reason for the season.  Merry Christmas.

Jesus is Still the Reason for the Season

Jesus is Better than Santa

Santa lives at the North Pole.

JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year
JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies
JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited
JESUS stands at your door and knocks… and then enters your heart.
You have to stand in line to see Santa
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn’t know your name, all he can say is “Hi little boy or girl, What’s your name?”
JESUS knew our names before we did. Not only does He know our names, He knows our addresses too. He knows our histories and futures and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly
JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO

JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says “You better not cry”
JESUS says “Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.”
Santa’s little helpers make toys
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.
It’s obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.

We need to put Christ back in Christmas.
Jesus is still the reason for the season.

May the Lord Bless and Watch over you and your loved ones this Christmas 2008

And may He prosper and bless the work of your hands in the New Year.

Enough Snow?

•November 25, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Hey everyone. Hope all you naz-packers have had a fun week with all the snow and ice. We got a ton of it where i live so if anyone runs out, give me a call and ill ship more your way. Wanted you all to be thinking about tomorrow and how the Old Testament people had to of felt not having a Savior like we do. And all the things they had to do to have forgiveness for their sins. “When will He come” is the title of the lesson tomorrow night. Other than that, I am not sure what God will place on my heart to speak to you about. He works in wierd ways when it comes to that. Well I am out.
